WHO WE ARE Strathclyde University Incubator (SUI) is Scotland’s first business incubator and has twenty years experience in working with start-up business and helping them grow into more mature and established organisations. SUI is an autonomous business and since 1990 around one hundred and twenty five companies have been based at there and have benefited from its expertise. Its team has established, built and been involved in exiting a number of life science businesses. Amongst these successes is the setting up of Lifescan Ltd to over one thousand people; setting up a new Division within Aortech and the sale of Unipath Ltd from Unilever plc. It has also founded start up companies within large multinationals; set up and grown Stirling Medical Innovations Ltd to over one hundred people and established a product portfolio of over fifty products currently sold by Innova Biosciences Ltd. Its team has built extensive networks and contacts throughout the life sciences industry in the UK, Europe and the US. Click here for more information The Scottish Co-Investment Fundwas established in 2003 and with a capital fund of £45 million. It aims to increase the risk capital available for investment opportunities in small and medium-sized Scottish companies. It is one of three investment products in the Scottish Enterprise portfolio. For early stage businesses, the Scottish Seed Fund provides investments from £20,000 to £100,000. For larger companies trying to raise funds for the next crucial stage of development, the Scottish Venture Fund provides investments in the range, typically, between £2 million and £10 million.
